Craig's 2003 Review

UPDATE--11/19/03
I've made quite a few changes to the car this year. Weld Pro Stars, new 28X11.50 ET Streets, CE adjustable rear drag shocks, 3.5" Dynomax Bullet mufflers, header evac setup, removed the back seat, removed the Camaro console and put in a '73 Nova SS console, put in a trick TH350 tranny that was built by Arnett Racing Transmissons in Greenville, KY, loosen up the front suspension and cut a coil off the front springs.

All that culminated in a best run of 10.43@126 with a 60' time of 1.38! Needless to say, I was thrilled to accomplish that.

I competed in the PRO race at Bowling Green again in the Nostalgia Muscle Car class. That's an index class, so everyone has a chance to win, but its not really brackets either. I lost first round, but I had a good time.

I also found a local heads-up series that's run at Ohio Valley Raceway. So I've been running in the Entry Street class, which will be called Outlaw 8.5 next year. There's a minimum weight rule and a 26X8.5" tire rule. That's it. I was up against a lot of cars running nitrous, but I did OK considering I'm still running all motor. No wins, but I wasn't the slowest car, so that's worth something :-)

I once again set Low ET at the Nova Listserv Gathering. I also ran the first ever 10 second pass in Gathering history, so that was fun. I also went 3 rounds in the Top Eliminator bracket race, which was a definite improvement.

That's 2003 in a nutshell.
